(CBS) — As coronavirus cases in Massachusetts and across the country have risen due to the highly contagious Delta variant, some communities have begun to reissue mask recommendations or requirements.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommends that even Americans who have been vaccinated in areas where the spread of COVID is severe or high should wear masks indoors. Statewide, the Department of Public Health advises people who have been vaccinated to stay in indoor public places if their immune systems are weak, there is a potential disease that puts them at serious risk of infection, or if they live with at-risk or unvaccinated people wear mask.
Belmont: From August 9th, all indoor places open to the public need to wear masks, including restaurants, bars, salons, places of worship, fitness centers and other businesses
Lexington: Starting August 18, people two years of age and older will need to wear masks in indoor businesses, churches, and private places. The authorization will be reviewed again on November 5.
